Prof. Reiner Schulze's book the Towards a European Private Law was published by the China University of Political Science and Law Press in August 2016. This book was translated by Jin Jing, Li Hai, Zhang Shuhan, Wang Jianyi and Yao Mingbin, and funded by the 2015-2018 EU Jean Monnet Programme (Contract Number 2015-2285/001-001) led by Prof. Zhang Tong, and is also one of the ‘EU Jean Monnet Project Series’.



Prof. Schulze is the former dean of Faculty of Law of University of Münster, Germany, and a well-known scholar of European private law. This book is a collection of 11 representative papers by Prof. Schulze in the field of private European law. These papers conduct a legal historical study on the development of private European law from the perspective of theory and practice, discuss the development process of private European law from common law to community law, and conduct in-depth academic discussions on the current situation and prospects of the Europeanization of private law, the changes of European debt law, the new challenges in the current European contract law, and the innovative characteristics of the European Common Sale Law.
