The Research Centre for the Rule of Law on Territorial Space and Urban Construction of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) is an off-staff research institution officially established in 2019 with the approval of CUPL. The main task of the Research Center is to improve the construction of territorial space and urban governance by law, accelerate the modernisation of territorial space and urban governance system and enhance the capacity of territorial space and urban governance, aiming to promote the orderly management, scientific development and rational utilization of territorial space resources and urban space construction, and to promote the construction, development, improvement and implementation of the legal system related to the development and protection of territorial space and urban construction. 


The Research Center brings together outstanding experts and scholars in the fields of territorial and space governance and urban construction, and the professional expertise of the center members spans academic fields such as law, management, and territorial science. By organising relevant experts and scholars as well as government officials to conduct thematic research and international exchanges on legislation and its implementation in territorial space and urban construction, the Research Center will give full play to its disciplinary and professional advantages and resource advantages to provide intellectual support for scientific decision-making in building a rule of law support system for territorial space layout and urban construction for high-quality development.
