Cooperative Programmes with U.S

The College of Comparative Law signed cooperative agreements with School of Law of Fordham University, Maurer School of Law of Indiana University Bloomington, College of Law of Michigan State University, and Mitchell Hamline College of Law. The College has also developed a collaborative relationship with Law School of Columbia University in the City of New York and Mitchell Hamline College of Law on co-organizing summer school programs.


The cooperative programs include:

1. Student Exchange Programme

The College sends 2 students (undergraduate/postgraduate) to study with each partner law schools for a semester (6 months) per year, during which the tuition fee at partner schools is waived. The exchange students may apply for scholarship from the China Scholarship Council. The students may take advantage of the credits they earned during the period of exchange and apply for LL.M. degree at the same partner law school. After completing another 6 months of studies, they will receive LL.M. degree with only 50% of the LL.M program tuition fee paid.

2. Summer School Programme

The College sends 20 students selected from the whole of university students to Law School of Columbia University in the City of New York to attend the U.S Business Law Academy for 3 weeks each summer. The Academy offers 6 courses in total 48 teaching hours. The lecturers are all well-known professors from Columbia Law School, such as Prof. Robert Jackson and Prof. Jeffrey N. Gordon. It also invites practicing lawyers, LL.M. program director, and career planner to present lectures each week with free lunch. Each Friday, the students will visit governmental departments, financial institutions, mass enterprises and cultural resorts in New York City. The Academy will provide students with official transcript and letter of study certificate after theprogram.
