Sino-Italian Law Forum Serial Lectures:Stefano Porcelli gives a lecture

Stefano Porcelli, Associate Professor of the School of Law of University of Brescia, Guest Professor of the College & Director of the Department of Human and Family Studies of the Centre for Latin American Law Studies of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, gave an online lecture on the Green Principle and the Principle of Keeping Things as They Are to the students at the invitation of the College of Comparative Law on the evening of 11 Dec, 2023.



The lecture was held online and on-site, and it was moderated by the Director of the Academic Committee of the College Prof. Fei Anling on Xueyuanlu Campus. Lecturer Li Lin from the School of Juris Master of CUPL, Lecturer Lei Zhenwen from the Law School of Beihang University and Lecturer Tang Botao from the Kenneth Wang School of Law of Soochow University were the commentators.


At the beginning, Fei expressed her gratitude to Porcelli for giving the lecture. She introduced that Porcelli has profound knowledge of Roman law and civil and commercial law as the first Italian who gained a PhD of Law degree at CUPL.



Started from the real right system of Roman law, Porcelli analysed in-depth how this system implements the essential requirements of ‘the green principle and the principle of keepings things as they are’ by restricting the ownership to better meet the needs of modern society.


During the discussion, Li pointed out that the disposal power of the owner should be restricted from outside and inside. From the angle of data property right, Lei expounded his thinking on the principle of keeping the essence of things. Tang put forward some thoughts from the angle of modern law and pointed out that in order to maintain social benefits, administrative law and the constitution’s limit on ownership has been very common.


At the end of the lecture, Fei once again thanked Porcelli, the guests and all the teachers and students present.
