The registration site was filled with a lively atmosphere. Jiang Zeting, Chair of the University Council, and Ma Huaide, President of the University, visited the College’s reception stand to provide guidance and posed for photos with the new students.

In conversations with students and parents, Gu Yongqiang, Chair of the College Council, emphasised that as the first cohort of undergraduates, the students would not only be witnesses to the College’s development but also participants in the construction of the Law discipline focusing on regional and national studies. Parents expressed their appreciation for the meticulous arrangements of both registration procedures and support services, noting that this demonstrated the College’s great care for its students and strengthened their confidence in their children’s future academic and professional growth.

In the afternoon, the College held a parent–faculty meeting. Leaders of the College and faculty representatives engaged in in-depth discussions with parents on topics such as the College’s development orientation, the disciplinary features of regional and national law, postgraduate study and employment planning, as well as the importance of psychological well-being and safety education for new students. Dean Xie Zhiyong expressed his sincere gratitude for the trust and support of the parents, and highlighted the goal of building a collaborative system between families and the College to help students grow into legal professionals with solid expertise, broad international vision, and outstanding cross-cultural communication skills.

After the meeting, the College leadership visited the students’ accommodations to encourage them to integrate into the community quickly, learn from one another, and make a strong start to their university life.
The arrival of the first cohort of undergraduates has injected new vitality into the College of Comparative Law. The College would take their enrollment as a new starting point to continue optimising its curriculum, strengthening its faculty and expanding practice platforms. It is committed to cultivating more high-quality professionals to contribute to China’s rule of law in foreign-related affairs. Meanwhile, these young ‘pursuers of the rule of law’ will embark on their journey from CUPL, carrying the faith of the rule of law, and will, with youthful determination, shoulder the responsibility of China’s younger generation in advancing the rule of law in the new era.
