The commentary titled 'Forging a New Path for China–Latin America Human Rights Cooperation'(in English), written by Associate Professor Pan Deng of the College, was published on 25 July—the same day the Second China–Latin America Human Rights Roundtable was held in São Paulo, Brazil. It appeared on the homepage of the English-language portal of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and New Era Chinese Diplomacy website, jointly run by the China Internet Information Center and the China Institute of International Studies, as well as on the homepage of the English website of the China Society for Human Rights Studies. The full text of the article was also featured prominently in English, Spanish and Portuguese on the commentary homepages of CGTN (English), CGTN en Español and People's Daily Online Portuguese Edition on 25, 26, and 28 July, respectively.

The commentary directly addresses the notable differences in human rights concepts between China and Latin American countries, stemming from diverse civilisational foundations, development paths and core social values. At the same time, it highlights the shared historical experiences and unique developmental trajectories that have allowed both sides to approach human rights cooperation through mutual respect and understanding. According to the article, the dialogue-driven, inclusive and practice-based approach between China and Latin America stands in contrast to the confrontational and prescriptive narrative traditionally shaped by the West, reflecting the growing diversity and complexity of global human rights discourse. Through mutual learning and trust-building on human rights issues, China and Latin America not only enhance their respective human rights agendas but also contribute to a 'Global South' perspective in promoting a more equitable, balanced and inclusive international human rights governance.

Following the multilingual publication of the article, it was republished by several major regional media platforms across Latin America and the United States. Various websites, independent media and social media accounts cited or echoed key points of the article, resulting in effective secondary dissemination. The piece played a positive role in improving public understanding of China's human rights principles and progress, aligning with China's legal diplomacy efforts in Latin America through agenda setting and opinion shaping.
