A/Prof. May Fong Cheong, from the School of Private and Commercial Law, Faculty of Law & Justice of the University of New South Wales Sydney, visited the College On the morning of 15 April, 2025.

Dean of the College Prof. Xie Zhiyong met with the visiting delegation on Haidian Campus. A/Prof. Xu Yan, Director of the Institute for the Laws of Hong Kong Macao and Taiwan Regions of the College, chaired the discussion. Director of the China-America Law Institute of the College Prof. Feng Kai, Deputy Director of the Institute for the Laws of Hong Kong Macao and Taiwan Regions of the College Dr. Yang Ziran and Deputy Director of the College Administrative Office Ms. Li Li attended the meeting.
Xie first extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the College. He introduced the discipline characteristics, enrollment scale, personnel training and student exchange of the College, and highlighted the change that the College now is also named School of Comparative Law and undertakes the task of undergraduate training. In particular, he stressed the development status and long-term goals of foreign-related rule of law personnel training. He said he looked forward to building a platform for exchanges and more co-operation with University of New South Wales.
Cheong expressed her thanks to Dean Xie and introduced the purpose and academic background of her visit on behalf of the School of Private and Commercial Law of UNSW Sydney. Cheong said she had served as dean of the University of Malaya Law School and has close links with Australian, Malaysian and Singaporean universities. She looked forward to conducting joint research with the College on common law, competition law and consumer protection law, and promoting cooperation in joint student cultivating.

The two sides then discussed the joint Chinese-foreign undergraduate training, LL.M degree programmes, faculty exchanges and international modules, and reached initial interest in cooperation.
