Gao Xiang attends Seminar of International Commercial Expert Committee of Supreme People’s Court & Reappointment Ceremony of the First Group of Expert Members

The Third Seminar of International Commercial Expert Committee of Supreme People’s Court of China & Reappointment Ceremony of the First Group of Expert Members was held online and onsite in Beijing on 24-25 August, 2022. Prof. Gao Xiang from the College attended the event as a member of expert of the Committee and presented a keynote speech.



He Rong, Executive Vice-President of the Supreme People’s Court and Grand Justice of the First Rank, presided over the seminar. Vice-President of the Supreme People's Court and Grand Justice of the Second Rank Tao Kaiyuan read out the Decision of the Supreme People’s Court on the Reappointment of Expert Members of the International Commercial Expert Committee. Zhou Qiang, President and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, extended his congratulations to the first group of expert members of the International Commercial Expert Committee who had been appointed for a second term. Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng, Assistant Commerce Minister Guo Tingting, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade KE Liangdong and Director of the Department of Regional Opening-up of the National Development and Reform Commission Council Xu Jianping addressed the meeting.



After the ceremony, over 40 experts from more than 20 countries and regions focused on the theme of the Development, Challenges and Countermeasures of Cross-Border Commercial Disputes during the seminar. Extensive and in-depth discussions were held within the framework of four specific issues. In the session of Exchange of Experience in the Settlement of Complex Commercial Disputes, Gao Xiang introduced the relevant provisions of international rules and conventions on Letter of Credit Fraud rules and relevant typical cases in various countries.
